Posture & Breathing
If you’ve tried traditional therapies, medication, injections, multiple physician consultations, massage, resting from the pain or even pushing through the pain… and you haven’t found relief, try our advance therapy approach.
Why Does
Posture Matter?
The body is not symmetrical on the right and left in many ways – The neurological, respiratory, circulatory, muscular and vision systems are not the same on the left side of the body as they are on the right. When a strong pattern emerges because of dominate overuse on one side, the increased demands on the body’s system creates structural weakness, instabilities, and musculoskeletal pain syndromes. Our initial evaluation is a thorough assessment of your pattern of movement and biomechanical imbalances.
Are you generating force or demands from muscles that are poorly positioned?
What if you don’t address how your body has compensated in this pattern when you walk, sit at a computer or play sports?
As a Postural Restoration therapist, we address your initial symptoms as well as the underlying problem that started your pain in motion. A Postural Restoration therapist will look at the RIGHT side of the body differently than the LEFT.
We strongly believe your posture AND breathing impacts your overall health. Posture is not simply “stand up straight and shoulders back”. Breathing is not simply a process we do automatically over 20,000 times a day. Restoring optimal breathing can unlock the neck, shoulder and hip range of motion and provide natural spinal mobility
You can naturally enhance your sports performance and improve mobility of the spine, neck, shoulders and hips by understanding your postural habits and optimize your breathing with our treatments.
Our patients quickly learn how optimal breathing aides in the successful treatment in:
- Neck/back pain and headaches or migraines
- Dizziness and light-headedness
- Athletes optimizing breath for sports
- Gut pain, digestion and constipation
- Anxiety and attention disorders
- Pelvic floor issues
“At week 16 of my pregnancy, every step I took was severe groin pain. Rolling over in bed was miserable. I couldn’t lift my leg to climb the stairs. I still had extreme difficulty breathing and work was difficult, even on light duty.”
Sarah was referred by her chiropractor and Obstetrician for Postural Restoration therapy at Taylor Creek PT. “After 2 weeks of PT, that’s when I felt my best. I slept better. I could breathe. I was more active because I didn’t hurt! I thought I was going to be on bed rest early in my pregnancy. I’ve been able to work through my pregnancy. I’ve had exercises I can do at home or at work to shut off tightness and pain.” I highly recommend Taylor Creek’s Postural Restoration techniques for pelvic pain with pregnancy and especially for the ‘Long-haulers’ from COVID.
