Dance and Performance

Ben Sudbeck is the only physical therapist in Northeast Nebraska with advanced training in rehabilitation specific to dancers.

Why Treatment Specific to Dancers?

The interest in dance physical therapy stemmed from Ben’s sister, Brooke, who owns a dance studio in Norfolk, NE.  In conversations with Brooke and through observations of many of her students, Ben found that there was an extreme need for treatment that was specific to the dancer’s movement patterns and training methods.

Ben spent several weekends in New York City completing a certification taught by Marika Molnar and her staff at Westside Dance Physical Therapy. He has also assisted the NeuroTour Performing Arts Team in providing physical therapy coverage for multiple traveling broadway shows at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, NE.

Over the last 12 years, Ben has been able to utilize the training and expertise to help many dancers in the area rehab from injury and create a specific program to give them the tools to excel at their craft.

The focus on re-aligning the body and creating proper movement patterns without faulty compensations is the key behind injury prevention for dancers and gymnasts.  They require very detailed treatment to make sure they can maintain the mobility required of them on stage or on the field, while still providing them enough stability through their pelvis, hips, and spine to distribute forces equally throughout their bodies.
