Halie has had over 6 months of various levels of headaches (add a concussion in there), dizziness, and sensitivity to light. After headache medication, an MRI, bloodwork, missed school, and doctor appointments, we were given the option to go to a neurologist or a physical therapist.
We were referred to Kristi Jagels at Taylor Creek Physical Therapy for postural restoration. At our initial meeting, she asked questions about the headaches, her dental history, sports activities, etc. After looking her over, Kristi started her on exercises to improve her breathing. Her headache was completely gone. She also showed her how to rest her tongue and jaw. Halie could take deep breaths and her headache would go away. You could see the relief on her face that she had a break from the headaches. We look forward to working with Taylor Creek Physical Therapy for continued improvement.
This was one of the most amazing things I’ve seen. As a parent, it’s hard to have your child be in pain and not know what to do about it (besides over-medicate). We are grateful that her medical tests did not show any problems. We are more than grateful that we’ll be able to get a solution for her headaches.

"At the age of 26 of age, My eye burned. I would experience a pulling sensation in my right eye. The head pressure and eye strain felt like the worst headache. I had multiple symptoms that had my physicians confused. My symptoms included ear pain, pain at the base of my skull, right eye pain, weakness on the ENTIRE right side of my body and extreme tightness in my right shoulder. I had balance issues because my right leg always felt weak. I was dizzy, stumbling and couldn’t walk normal. I had extreme fatigue and lack of energy.
One morning I woke up with severe burning in my eye. I then lost vision in my right eye for 3 weeks. I was scared. I didn’t know what was going on. I could not feel the ground under my feet. My foot felt like it was floating. After a 5-hour MRI and multiple scans and tests, the doctors stated could possibly have early onset multiple sclerosis.
Everything changed coming to Taylor Creek PT. After my first appointment, Kristi gave me a temporary appliance for my teeth because I’m a clencher. I was able to take it home with me and needed to use it with my home exercises. In the past, I had tried everything recommended to me and there were no results. This was the first time I had a glimpse of hope after my first appointment at Taylor Creek. I could walk. I could feel the floor. I had my balance back. The pressure in my head and eye went away – as long I was using my temporary appliance and followed the home exercise plan.
I honestly feared I was going to lose my passions in life. I am now able to function like a normal 26-year-old. I hate to think what life could have been if I had not found Taylor Creek. I’m able to live my life to the fullest and enjoy everyday pain free. "

"Left shoulder pain for 5 years. Neck tension that was making it impossible to hold my head up by suppertime. Headaches were daily. MRI of my neck was normal. Facial pain and jaw popping. I felt off balance. Ears were full and ringing. Medications were not relieving the headaches. Besides addressing all these symptoms, my goal was to carry the Big Bang Boom flag over my head in the Fourth of July Parade.
Now I’m headache free and have full use of my arms without pain! I no longer have facial pain or jaw popping. Dizziness is 75% gone but I’ve had days without dizziness at all. I can go upstairs without being winded. I have more energy at work and home. In the past, I had EXTREME fatigue all over my body. I would have to sit often because of the fatigue. Now I can stand longer at work and home. I used to lay down nightly because I couldn’t hold up my head. Those days are gone. I knew all these symptoms were connected but I did not know how to “fix” it myself. Thanks to Taylor Creek PT and using Postural Restoration, I now have my old self back."

Gretchen is a survivor of spinal and breast cancer. She commented how great it is to survive stage IV cancer, but having constant pain and headaches was equally as tough in the years that followed.
Constant back pain, upper trapezius and shoulder blade pain. Nerve pain going down the right buttock and leg. Sitting at her desk with pain as high as 8/10. Diagnostic tests of CT scan and MRI followed by 3 injections in lower back without relief. Headaches every day for 4+years. Unable to sleep well or focus on work. The pain was draining. Following cancer treatment, she couldn’t walk without being hunched over. “I was walking like a person twice my age, very slow and bent over,” she explains.
“After 3 visits I was 80% better. I was conscious of how to sit at work to eliminate my pain and headaches,” she states. After Gretchen’s first visit we were able to eliminate her pain and headaches from 4/10 to 0/10 with new postural positions of how to sit, stand and sleep. We think of these positions as “tools” to help yourself.
Gretchen completed her rehab after 15 visits. She is free from headaches. She can sleep without back or shoulder pain. She can focus on work without the constant body tension. Gretchen states “I’m walking normal, like a person my age again. I’m a believer in Postural Restoration therapy.”

“My first symptom began with headaches in 2012. After a skiing accident in 2015, I started to develop more back problems, horrible anxiety and heart palpations. I woke up on the day of my 30th birthday with this intense ear ringing that didn’t allow me to think. I saw 4 different specialists and doctors in Colorado (living there at the time). I did physical therapy and chiropractic to help with some of these issues with NO ANSWERS and NO RESOLUTION. It was expensive and frankly, it felt like I was wasting my time.
After moving back to Nebraska my symptoms seem to improve but they were always there. They weren’t as debilitating as they once were. But after a few years, I believe stress was a big factor and the ear ringing came back. The ear ringing was so prominent during the day that it made me quite depressed. It’s tough to live every day like that. Then the shoulder, neck and back pain came on with the ear ringing and it was like stacking blocks on top of blocks – putting more weight on me and ultimately making me feel worse. My workday was atrocious. Very unproductive. Very scatter-brained. I couldn’t concentrate or even carry a thought. It seemed like I was swimming backwards in my career. This is not a great feeling to have in a cooperate business setting. You must have your ‘A’ game on. It stressed me out and created more anxiety, only making my symptoms worse.
“I went to the ER in October 2021. I had been developing severe left shoulder pain that would shoot up the base of my skull like a toothache. The pain would come and go in waves with periods of relief over the next 4 weeks. I was still going to the gym and being active. One evening after work, I decided to skip the gym because my left shoulder was tight and weak. While driving home, I suddenly felt lightheaded, short of breath and had weird heart palpations. I thought I was having a heart attack. At the ER, they ran all the test and scans. Everything was normal. There I was left again with no answers with these crazy symptoms. I was feeling insane. Everyone was stumped at this point.”
“I now can focus on something else besides the constant pain and ear ringing. I’m more productive at work. The fatigue was horrible and now I have energy. Overall, I’ve had a night and day difference after six visits.”

Dizziness and Migraines for 8 months: The first time it happened I fell out of bed and onto the floor. Then I experienced episodes of severe dizziness at least once a week that would last up to 3 hours. The head pressure was unbelievable. I would have nauseating headaches. The dizziness was paralyzing. I couldn’t move or leave the chair. I would sweat so bad that it felt like I took a shower with my clothes on. I was soaked in sweat. The nausea made me vomit. It was hell. I would never wish that on my worst enemy. I didn’t have a normal life because I lived in fear that I would have another attack of dizziness.
Something was wrong with my eyes. I couldn’t clearly read the newspaper, my phone or a book. Scrolling on my phone or through the channels on the TV would make me very dizzy. I couldn’t turn my head while walking. I had look straight ahead. If I used my peripheral vision, turned my eyes to the side or looked up, I felt like I was going to fall. I lived in a tunnel.
I had light sensitivity. I never had the lights on in the room. There were times I had to be under a blanket as my wife drove me to my appointment. I couldn’t ride in the car at night because of the sensitivity to headlights. I had to quit driving.
The first session at Taylor Creek, I had a headache that was 8/10. I left my appointment with 0/10. I couldn’t believe it. I don’t have headaches anymore. I was able to read clearly at my first PT session. I could walk and turn my head without feeling so off balance. With each session I could see improvement in my balance, my head pressure and my overall mood.
I was back to driving after my 4th visit. Today is my 9th visit and I am mowing the yard, driving a tractor, pulling weeds in the garden, I can read clearly – and the biggest improvement is my confidence. I don’t live in fear of having another attack. I was recommended by two different friends to come to Taylor Creek. This is vastly different than the previous physical therapy I’ve tried for my dizziness because my symptoms would return but this Postural Restoration therapy worked!
